 have had a few animal issues in The Middle East and I'm very supportive of amazing people who do their hardest to improve, rescue, educate and petition to have laws changed in this generally 'animal unfriendly' region.

I'm going to share some stories and update this post as often as needed because I intend to spend the whole of 2014 doing as much as I can for a few animal charities and organisations in The Gulf. I have a few personal challenges up my sleeve and I'll be posting pictures to show how I've competed and completed them.

On 22nd July 2013 Prince George was born in a private London hospital.

I must say, I'm a royalist and I'm proud to have such a monarchy. I don't question "how much they cost" or "what they do" because I know that tourists flock in their millions every year to visit the UK and where do they all want to go? Buckingham Palace, The Mall, Windsor Castle.....they want the changing of the guard and Tower Bridge and the beautiful London that's steeped in history for ever.

I'm not a fanatic who collects royal memorabilia or queues for hours to get a glimpse but I respect them greatly and I love following the happy news stories, especially about our new, once to be king George. I just wish Diana was here to see her boy...with his boy.

 

I'm feeling a really modern image being created by Kate, William and of course their PR team. I think they've thought long and hard about wanting to 'keep it real' and to be portrayed as normal young parents as far as is possible. The photos we have been seeing look much softer and more natural than ever before and I think William and Kate really want the nation to feel close to their little prince.

Social Networking blows my mind - Sometimes not in a good way.

All that glitters isn't necessarily what you think it is! Or who come to that.

 

 

I can remember signing up to Facebook and then Twitter on the very first day they were launched and thinking "oh my god, technology like this is going to be amazing" I still think they are incredible tools for keeping in touch, sharing information, news, causes, marketing and much more but of late I'm seeing a much darker side.

 "Social networking in the hands of idiots" Boy is it a dangerous tool!

 

I've seen cyber bullying, trolling and online stalking, that I have myself been subjected to. People are even so depressed that they're committing suicide over this anonymous kind of terrorising!!

I decided a few months ago to do my own research and the path it has led me down has shown me a twisting and possibly dangerous side of the net that, in my opinion, needs regulating.

 

I'm no IT expert but I'm lucky to have a close friend who was once upon a time a naughty 'hacker' and seems to know pretty much everything I have ever needed or asked about my conundrums in the world wide web. He has introduced me to software that can be downloaded by looking on the right sites and can not only act as a VPN but a double VPN plus it can pinpoint emails, even when sent through a proxy....I am amazed at whats accessible to pretty much anyone. This is my exact point!

As technology becomes more sophisticated, there are more doors being opened....and not all good doors.I've become familiar with an organisation based in the UK who work collectively with a wonderful network of volunteers who search the internet for paedophiles who are posing as teens and 'grooming' children for evil purposes.

My stance on paedophilia is that the perpetrators AND anyone who collects/watches child porn should be put to death. Yes, I'm zero tolerance when it comes to such an evil and damaging subject. Being realistic though, life meaning life should be the minimum term for these "things"
What amazed me was that this particular organisation get such a hard time from British law enforcement because they are classed as vigilantes.  SO BE IT Someone needs to start protecting the children. The work that these caring individuals do is outstanding, especially as they have no resource funding, yet have helped capture and convict over 200 paedophiles this year alone.

My goodness, thats the mere tip of the iceberg and I wish the UK would adopt a more proactive interaction with communities who are living among dirty paedophiles and don't have a clue. America seem to do so much more to expose these 'things' but europe wants to protect their identities!! How f*cking ridiculous! Of course I believe in true justice but come on....Anyway, before I get carried away, I will move on to the part of social networking that has gripped us.

 

In my opinion, theres not much difference nowdays to social networking sites and dating sites. It doesn't matter what your background is, how much money you earn or your social status.

My Garden is my sanctuary......

 

 

Yes this is the fairy at the bottom of my garden - she works as a tooth fairy to!

I've had a really busy summer with my friends and family. We've done crazy theme park days out, evening beach BBQ's, Go Karting at Buckmore which is where Lewis Hamilton started out, picnics at Leeds Castle, outdoor theatre, rollerblading in Hyde Park, cinema, eating at Nandos (family fave), shopping and country drives. We had 2 birthdays in August and were so lucky with the British weather that we celebrated both in my beautiful garden...its the best summer I've had for a good few years and here's hoping the sun continues to shine in September. ..

 

We have a family friend who isn't so lucky and who is terribly ill in hospital. This person has also dedicated her life to her family as a great wife and strong loving mother but she's been "dealt a seriously bad hand" and struck down, maybe never to recover. We spent time visiting her but have stepped back for her closest relatives to be there and to decide if and when another visit is appropriate.

It has really put so much into prospective for many of us and it's a very sad time that you wouldn't wish your worst enemy to endure. The feeling of being helpless is probably one of my worst fears when it comes to my nearest and dearest. It makes so many other people and other problems in my life totally irrelevant. ..what will be will be and there is only a certain amount you can change.

 

My garden plays a huge part in all of this....its where we sit as a family to eat, we party and BBQ there, in the winter we sit with blankets around the chiminea and chat while looking at the stars, the kids storm to the garden OFTEN when they are having a strop, the dogs play there, the wind chimes let me know if its windy, the birds nest in my trees, the hedgehogs visit in Autumn and for me it's a place I can sit in total sanity in my pyjamas, if I wish, thinking....worrying. ...wondering.

 

Planning...coming to terms with...whether I be laughing, crying or smiling, its a very prominent place for me.

Today in Woolwich London UK an innocent man was run down by a car of which the driver and its passenger then got out and repeatedly stabbed, hacked and cut him to death on a busy street in full view of passers by. I REFUSE to agree that these gratuitous TERRORISTS can relate or excuse their vile actions to RELIGION.

The feeling of sadness weighs on my heart for the family and friends of this brave man who is thought to be one of our serving British soldiers. May you rest in peace and these animals be brought to justice.
They WILL NOT be going to heaven where the virgins are expected to greet them and I hope and pray that instead, they'll rot in a prison cell for ever...

Another Natural Disaster ~ Oklahoma, The world are thinking of you

Survivability vs. tornadoes is 80% preparedness and 20% luck

Poor Moore State, Oklahoma were bombarded yesterday by a killer twister tornado. They had a similar disaster back in 1999 that took, I think, 36 lives, but the devastation caused yesterday has no comparison.

Moore has about 41.000 residents and when the tornado hit them, I would imagine many people were not near a shelter or able to alert loved ones.

The Old Type Of Shelter Is All Concrete

I always thought that people in countries where extreme weather was a regular occurrence would naturally have their own basement shelter or at least get enough warning to get to their nearest communal shelter but I'm learning that this is really not the case. Sometimes the warning is only a matter of 4 or 5 minutes which amazed me! I also assumed that the local government authorities would be responsible for funding residents to build their own shelters. This is not the case!

I Can't Imagine Having To Go Through This On Any Level

I looked at shelters with my friend who lives in "Tornado Alley" in The US and she explained that they have to be able to withstand winds of up to 200 mph and that a powerful tornado is able to actually take a really well built house off it's foundations in one go. Wow! It's easy for us to sit here and to feel sorry for them but the reality is that it must be traumatic and terrifying, especially for elderly people living alone or the little children who were at school without their parents to protect them.

He questioned whether or not all adults took the tornado warnings seriously yesterday and that you are able to control 80% of what happens to you during a tornado with preparedness strategies. Mike Adams views suggest that many people deny the danger when a warning is issued and that they don't take enough precautions to keep themselves safe. He goes on to say that all home owners in America who are in these high risk areas need to plan ahead and when buying a new home they should always "assume" that one day the shelter WILL be needed.

I would like to send much love to the people of Oklahoma at this really sad and confusing time and I pray that the injured recover and that they receive the help and support from their Government to rebuild their communities. I also send my sincere condolences to people who lost loved ones yesterday and I pray that you find peace at coming to terms with your grief.
