The UK has endured weeks of adverse weather; it's just dreadful

Driving Has Been a Nightmare!

Its 3am and I'm unable to sleep due to 80mph winds that are battering my  vill age and have been for over a week now. I have never experienced anything like this in England and it's put in perspective just how powerful the natural elements are! The media are calling it "water torture" due to the all time highest river levels in history. Worst floods ever and currently we have 22 severe flood warnings meaning that there is a very severe threat to life. The British Forces are helping residents in the worst hit areas to lay sand bags to protect people's properties and even our 2 Royal Princes William and Harry have been assisting today, with their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth sending out help to local farmers who have had to abandon their farms until the water disperses.

Tonight a lady was driving through London when a building colapsed on her car, sadly she was killed and her passengers injured.
Two walkers have gone missing, thought to have wandered off, disoriented in the bad weather and search parties are out looking.

An elderly gentlemen was killed today on a very large cruise ship as it entered the English Channel because a freak wave hit the ship and smashed a huge pane of glass on one of the decks....This is tragic and just shows the power of the sea. It's very worrying and must have been a scary place to be.

Since the storms there's been a huge loss of life here with canoeists drowning, trees falling on people and various other weather related incidents. Of course loss of life is the most important thing to make our government learn some serious lessons and to put in place better warnings and faster response units for people and animals who have suffered  unnecessarily. The Environment Agency should be ashamed of their lack of forward planning and made to pay for not listening.

The people I feel for are the ones that have lost everything due to their basements and ground floor looking like swimming pools! Can you imagine how long it'll take to dry out a whole house and how very depressing it will be to go back to a house that looks like it's been hurricane hit! Many people in the UK cannot afford House Insurance so I dread to think how they will cope and some families that live in areas that are prone to flooding are evacuating for the second and third time already. I send out my thoughts to anyone affected and pray that there's no more loss of life.

The good thing is that communities WILL come together and I'm certain that future plans will be made and measures put in place to ensure such flooding doesn't occur again.
